Two metal tins standing on a narrow wooden shelf against a white subway-tiled wall
A close-up of the soft bristle pad of a bench brush under raking light
A white enamel caddy of bottles and jars screwed to a green boarded wall

The shelf at eye level

Nothing is styled. The tins sit where they sit.

We photograph the range on the tiled bench it is mixed on, under one hard flash, with the water marks and the residue left in. If a lid is scuffed, the lid is scuffed. You are buying what is in the picture.

Mixed in batches of 400 tins, four times a year, in a converted fishmonger on Calle Begoña.

Everything washes out with warm water except the two oil-based tins, and those two say so on the label.

Before you order

The five questions the counter gets every Saturday

What does delivery cost and how long does it take?

€4.50 anywhere in mainland Spain, two to four working days, and free once the order passes €40. Balearics and Canaries €7.90. Rest of the European Union €9.50, four to eight working days, duty paid by us. Orders placed before Wednesday noon go out on the Thursday run.

What if the hold is wrong for my hair?

Send it back within thirty days, opened or not, and tell us what your hair actually did. We refund the tin and post the one we think you should have had instead; if that one is dearer you pay the difference, and if it is cheaper we refund it. We would rather swap a tin than argue about a seal.

How much am I meant to use?

One fingertip scoop, roughly 3 g, for hair up to 10 cm; two for thick hair past that. Warm it between the palms until it goes clear, then work it from the back forward through damp hair, not wet. A 100 ml tin lasts a daily user about eleven weeks. If your hair looks heavy by lunchtime you used two scoops where one would do.

Does it wash out, or do I need shampoo?

Ten of the twelve are water-based and rinse out under a warm tap with no shampoo at all. The two oil-based tins — Vuelta and the Grooming Cream — need one wash with a plain shampoo, and in the hard water along this coast sometimes two. Every product page says which it is in the first line.

What is actually in it?

The full ingredient list in INCI order is printed on the base of every tin and repeated on its product page. Nothing in the range carries parabens or added colour. Nine of the twelve are unscented; the three that are scented say what the scent is made of, because that is the part people react to.

Two ways in

Buy the tin everyone buys, or spend four minutes working out whether it is the right one. We would rather you did the second.
